Community Compost Program

$50.00

Join the local community compost program! We are inviting you, our neighbors, to partner in building the farm’s fertility with us. At Elmwood Farm, we have made a conscious decision not to purchase commercial compost from outside the farm. Your food scraps will divert waste from our city’s landfill, feed our laying hens, and create high quality compost for regenerating our soil. With a little patience, this household organic waste will return full circle in the form of nutrient dense food from the farm.

This one-time fee covers the cost of your compost buckets for our compost program. Whenever you drop food scraps off at the farm, there is a hose, scrubber, and soap for you to wash out your bucket for your next batch!

NTX GIVING DAY HAVE YOU HEARD OF IT??
.
What a joy and honor it’s been to build this place from an empty lot, slowly and with great care, into a gathering place for our community and a hub of learning and celebrating. Thank you to each and ever
Public Pig Service Announcement: you may see the piggies trotting around this week, it’s okay! We created an exclusion zone with electric wire around our vineyard and young cover crop plot to protect those spaces, but wanted the pigs and chicke
Thanks to @oakcliffadvocate and @jillnachtigal @laurenallen1198 for the awesome feature! We’re proud of our little herd-flock. And proud to be a voice for slow, thoughtful, beautiful food. #slowfood
